Exposición Vida represents a celebration of art, fashion, and photography within the cultural and historical context of Parque del Periodista. Its name, “Parque del Periodista,” was established in 1971 as a tribute to journalists’ unions seeking to honor the Cuban journalist Manuel del Socorro Rodríguez de la Victoria.
Artists Leinner Ortiz (Fashion), Saira Einpahet (Photography), Juan Camillo Jaramillo (Art), and K. Chris Durrah (Art, Photography) shape the exhibition’s cultural landscape through the language of music, fashion, color, and visual expression. Their works move fluidly between raw documentary imagery and abstract distortion—between blurred memory and vivid eruptions of material and color.
Each piece occupies its own space within the narrative, revealing shifting forms and layered histories. Together, the works create a dialogue between past and present, where fragments of experience, identity, and place emerge through texture, movement, and light.
Parque del Periodista is located in an area that was once considered removed from the bustle of the city center, offering a quiet and meaningful space for the press. Beyond its origin as a tribute, the park has become a gathering point for different generations of the city, especially for those dedicated to journalism and communication.
With the passage of time, creative people began to gather in the area, exchanging ideas, thoughts, expressions, and mediums. Artists, poets, writers, photographers, and sculptors emerged, and the park developed an expressive and bohemian culture. Libraries, cultural centers, cinemas, restaurants, and cafés became integrated into this expressive cultural environment.
